Station Road, Hamworthy

This project comprises 60 domestic apartments over 2 No. 6 storey blocks. They will consist of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments with en-suite bathroom, main bathroom, open plan kitchen / diner / lounge area and a storage area.

The building services installations incorporate the following:

  • New incoming services including remote sub-station
  • Central plant rooms located within basement car parking areas
  • Ground source heat pumps with bivalent operation of gas boilers
  • Bulk water storage with pumped distribution
  • Roof mounted photo voltaic arrays

The buildings are designed to meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and the 2 blocks will be designed to operate with at least 20% renewable energy across the site.

In addition some apartments have small external terraces. Other areas in the building are the common circulation space areas with car parking areas and plant space on the lower ground floor.

Each block shall operate as a separate building with independent mechanical and electrical building services. However, both buildings are designed to the same performance specification.
