This project incorporates a major extension to and refurbishment / enhancement of the existing performing arts building to provide improved and additional facilities.

The project includes:

Extended Dance studio
Drama Studio refurbishment with new Sound Booth
2 new music technology classrooms
New practice rooms
Soundproof ‘live’ room with new Sound Booth
Refurbishment of the Drama Studio
New changing rooms
Extension to Gymnasium

Key to the design process was to establish an acoustically low noise mechanical ventilation strategy as the majority of areas are deep plan spaces with limited potential for natural cross flow ventilation plus the requirement for acoustic separation from room to room and room to atmosphere.

The solution incorporates individual MVHR units within purpose built attenuation.

Lighting is via LED luminaires with dimming facilities, small power has been radically altered, plus Audio Visual and IT Data facilities have been enhanced.
