Future Skills Centre, Hampshire

The Future Skills Centre offers a range of construction and other training facilities as well as conference and similar activities to serve the local community.

The completed building incorporates 3 no. Main Workshops, a Technician’s workshop, 3 no. Classrooms, ICT Facilities, Common Hub Area / Concourse and Welfare Facilities. The building was designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent.

The Future Skills Centre comprises a £4.1 million investment project and the first completed building within the new employment zone in Whitehill-Bordon’s Louisburg Barracks redevelopment area.

Particular features of the design include:

Automatic natural ventilation including wind catchers to classrooms and concourse
Automatic opening louvres
Windows and roof lights to workshops PV Array
Air cleaning plant to the main workshops
Specialist extract within the technician’s workshop
Drop-in IT area within concourse
