Future Skills Centre, Hampshire

The Future Skills Centre offers a range of construction and other training facilities as well as conference and similar activities to serve the local community.

The completed building incorporates 3 no. Main Workshops, a Technician’s workshop, 3 no. Classrooms, ICT Facilities, Common Hub Area / Concourse and Welfare Facilities. The building was designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent.

The Future Skills Centre comprises a £4.1 million investment project and the first completed building within the new employment zone in Whitehill-Bordon’s Louisburg Barracks redevelopment area.

Particular features of the design include:

  • Automatic natural ventilation including wind catchers to classrooms and concourse
  • Automatic opening louvres
  • Windows and roof lights to workshops PV Array
  • Air cleaning plant to the main workshops
  • Specialist extract within the technician’s workshop
  • Drop-in IT area within concourse
