Basingstoke Hospital

The patient bedrooms are provided with heating, cooling and ventilation via low impact chilled ceilings designed for enhanced thermal comfort with low air movement and quiet operation.

The system is served from a new air handling plant located in the plant room extension, whilst an additional chiller was provided in the existing plant compound to cope with the additional cooling demand. The heating is served from the site district heating system.

The lighting installation incorporates LED luminaires with dimming facilities. Bedhead facilities include medical gases, nurse call, on demand entertainment system, local power and lighting.

The hospitals private High Voltage ring was upgraded as an ancillary project to cope with the additional load of this and other planned projects.

The facility, part of the Diagnostic Treatment Centre incorporates:

  • 22 bedrooms with en-suite facilities
  • Reception
  • Clinical rooms
  • Production kitchen

All located on the second floor of the building.

A new plant room was constructed at ground level to support the Ward with connecting bridge/wing.
